섬기는 사람들 

신앙생활을 하면서 가장 어렵게 여겨지는 것이 있다면 저는 '맡김' 이라고 생각합니다.

​

시편 52:22절에서, "네 짐을 여호와께 맡겨 버리라. 저를 붙드신고 의인의 요동함을 영영히 허락지 아니하시리로다." 라고 시인은 권면합니다.

주님께서는 

"수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라." 고 초청하십니다.

여러분은 이 말씀을따라 생활의 어려움이나, 고통, 자녀문제, 물질문제 등, 많은 짐들을 맡기려고 힘썼을 것입니다. 그런데, 많은 성도들이 짐을 맡기러 갔다가 다시 되가져오곤 합니다. 

즉 모든 짐을 기도로 아뢰며 하나님께 맡겼지만, 돌아서서 그 일을 염려하고 근심하는 것입니다. 이는 '맡긴다.'는 것이 말처럼 쉽지 않음을 보여주는 것입니다.

시편은 성경에서 유일하게 사람이 하나님께 드린 시(노리)가 하나님의 말씀이 되었습니다. 그런 의미에서 시편은 우리의 인생과도 같습니다. 

하나님을 향한 시(노래)가 즐겁고 행복을 느낄 때 나올 것 같아도 실제는 눈물의 골짜기를 지날 때와 고난의 터널을 통과할 때 훨씬 더 많이 나오게 되는 것입니다.

하나님께서 주신 우리의 삶의 자리가 눈물의 골짜기처럼 보이고, 빛이 보이지 않는 터널을 지나느 ㄴ것과 같을지라도, 삶 속에 하나님을 경험하고 신뢰하고 하나님께 맡기는 믿음이 있다면, 참 복된 신앙을 가지고 있는 것 입니다.

바울이 복음을 전할 때 가장 이상적인 모습을 보였던 곳은 베ㅐ뢰아였습니다.

"베뢰아에 있는 사람들은 데살로니가에 있는 사람들보다 더 너그러워서 /간절한 마음으로 말씀을 받고/ 이것이 그러한가 하여 날마다 성경을 상고하므로" (행전 17:11절)

베뢰아 사람들의 특징은 세상 사람들의 말보다 하나님의 말씀을 더 신뢰 했습니다.

그리고 성겅을 통해 그 말씀을 확인했습니다. 어쩌면 사도시대 뿐만 아니라 모든 시대의 교회와 성도들일 이러하기를 바라는 마음이 이 구절에 담겨 있습니다.

이처럼 베뢰아 성도들을 본받아 2024년 우리 교회 표어는

삶 속에서 말씀을 사모하며 기도의 응답이 있는 교회입니다. 

실천 방향으로 말씀을 사모하여 기도의 ㅇㅇ답이 있는 공동체 (행전 17:11) 입닏나. 

여러분들이 가지고 계시는 믿음을 삶 속에서 실천하는 복된 한 해가 되시길 바랍니다.

In living a life of faith, if there is something that I find most difficult, it would be "entrusting".

Psalm 55:22 states, "Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." Here, the psalmist encourages us.

The Lord invites, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

You may have strived to entrust many burdens to the Lord, including life's difficulties, pain, issues with children, and financial problems. However, many believers find themselves taking back the burdens they had entrusted. That is, even after entrusting everything to God through prayer, they turn around and start worrying about it again. This shows that 'entrusting' is not as easy as it sounds.

Psalms are unique in the Bible as the only instance where the songs (poems) offered to God became God's word. In this sense, Psalms are much like our lives.

Even though it seems like songs of joy and happiness toward God should come out when we're feeling joyful and happy, in reality, they come out much more during times of tears, when passing through valleys of weeping, and tunnels of trials.

Even if our place in life given by God seems like passing through a valley of tears, and through tunnels where no light is seen, if there is faith in experiencing God, trusting Him, and entrusting our lives to Him, then that is truly a blessed faith.

The most ideal example of when Paul preached the gospel was in Berea.

"The Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (Acts 17:11)

The characteristic of the Bereans was that they trusted God's word more than the words of people.

And they verified that word through the Scriptures. Perhaps, the hope that not only the Apostolic Age but all eras of the church and believers would do this is contained in this verse.

Thus, emulating the Berean believers, our church's motto for 2024 is:

A church that longs for the Word in life and experiences answers to prayers.

As a practical direction, it is to be a community that longs for the Word and experiences the answers to prayers (Acts 17:11).

I hope that this year will be a blessed one for you all, practicing the faith you have in life.
